Memorial ceremony in Jerusalem

On 30 October, HRH The Crown Prince visits Jerusalem, Israel, to mark the the 70th year of the rescue of the Danish Jews in October 1943.

During the visit The Crown Prince attends a memorial ceremony, marking the 70th year of the rescue, which sent more than 7.000 Danish Jews to Sweden. The Crown Prince is accompanied by the Danish Minister of Education, Christine Antorini, and is received by President Shimon Peres. 

As part of the memorial ceremony, The Crown Prince visits Yad Vashem, which is the Israel's official monument in commemoration of the Holocaust and comprises a complex of 180.000 square metre including a historical museum, a library, and a Pantheon. Several of the Danish Jews which were sent to Sweden in October 1943 will also be attending the memorial ceremony. 

In the evening, The Crown Prince will attend a memorial concert performed by Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra in Jerusalem Theatre.
