The Queen is the Danish monarch who has been depicted on postage stamps the most times. The first time was in 1941, when The Queen as a little princess sat on the arm of her mother, the then-Crown Princess Ingrid. Since then, there have been 162 Danish postage stamps with The Queen as the motif, created on the basis of 28 different paintings, drawings and photos.

The new stamps, which are issued on the occasion of the jubilee of Her Majesty’s reign in 2022, show The Queen today and as the newly proclaimed sovereign in 1972. Between the two pictures, the Royal Coat of Arms is shown as the symbol of the Kingdom of Denmark.

The picture from 1972 was photographed by Rigmor Mydtskov, while the new picture was taken by photographer Tine Harden. The photographs were redrawn by engraver Martin Mörck.
