New Year’s levees 2019

In 2019, the New Year’s banquet is held on 1 January and the New Year’s levees on 3 and 4 January.

Tuesday 1 January, HM The Queen holds a New Year’s levee and banquet for the government and specially-invited guests in Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg at 19.30. 

Thursday 3 January, a New Year’s levee for the justices of the Supreme Court of Denmark and the officer corps of the Royal Life Guard and the Guard Hussar Regiment is held at Christian VII's Palace, Amalienborg at 9.50. A subsequent New Year’s levee for the diplomatic corps is held at Christiansborg Palace at 11.30.

Friday 4 January, a New Year’s levee for commanding officers from the Defence and the Danish Emergency Management Agency, the I., II. and III. ranking classes, and invited representatives of larger national organizations and royal patronages is be held at Christiansborg Palace at 9.30. On the occasion of the New Year’s levee, The Queen rides in the Gold Coach escorted by the Guard Hussar Regiment’s mounted squadron from Amalienborg to Christiansborg Palace at 9.00 and from Christiansborg Palace to Amalienborg at 13.30.
