Opening of the exhibition "Women and Change"

HM The Queen was present when the art museum ARKEN opened the exhibition “Women and Change” on 4 February 2022. “Women and Change” deals with 150 years of representation of women and gender in art. Through 117 artworks by Danish and international artists, the exhibition provides a look into the depictions of women in the history of art and today.

After the official opening, Her Majesty had the opportunity to see the exhibition and greet some of the exhibiting Danish female artists.

The exhibition consists of works ranging from the end of the 1800s up to the newest contemporary art and includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, film and installations.

Opening of the exhibition "Women and Change"

ARKEN was opened on 15 March 1996 by Her Majesty The Queen and thus celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. In 2012, The Queen’s own works were displayed at the museum in connection with the exhibition “The Essence of Color”. “Women and Change” is open to the public from 5 February until 14 August 2022.
