Decorations and design

Read more about HM Queen Margrethe’s decorations and design.

Through her artistic efforts, Queen Margrethe has contributed to a good many public projects. In addition to the church textiles, Queen Margrethe has, among other things, designed an altarpiece for Skei Mountain Church in Norway, a Christmas spoon, and the annual Danish Christmas seals in 1970, 2003 and 2015, in addition to Greenland’s Christmas seal in 1983.

Queen Margrethe’s artwork has also been made available to a number of humanitarian organizations; profits from the sale of Queen Margrethe’s posters, lithographs and calendars have gone to important purposes. Several of the organizations are among Queen Margrethe’s patronages, such as The Danish Cancer Society, The Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the organization Greenlandic Children/Kalaallit Meerartaat.
