HRH The Crown Princess participates today, 12 March 2015, at the Champions for Change Awards, where three global leaders are recognized for their work for equal rights for girls and women.

The Crown Princess will give a speech and distribute prizes at this year’s Champions for Change Awards ceremony, which takes place in London. The Crown Princess takes part in her role as patron of the event, which focuses on the opportunity for creating a world with equal rights between the sexes.

Three global leaders are recognized this year for their work to realize this goal, and the prize recipients are the Rt. Hon. William Hague, leader of the House of Commons and former foreign minister of Great Britain, HRH Princess Mabel van Oranje, chair of Girls Not Brides, and Monique Villa, chief executive officer of the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

The Champions for Change Awards are arranged by the international organization International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW), which via research works to spread knowledge about the circumstances for women and the challenges to achieving equal rights, economic stability and equal access to participation in society for the use of, among others, decision-makers.
