Previous news about the visit published Friday, January 15, 2016:

HRH The Crown Princess pays a visit in Burkina Faso, West Africa, from 24 - 26 January 2016 together with foreign affairs minister Kristian Jensen.

The visit will focus on women’s health and rights as well as the country’s positive democratic development.

Burkina Faso is one of the work’s most impoverished countries with a high population growth. The West African country has made progress in relation to maternal and infant mortality and has committed itself to improving the rights of women and children. However, the conditions for girls and women are still characterized by a number of challenges, including the lack of access to a range of basic health services.

Together with the foreign affairs minister, The Crown Princess will pay visits at health care facilities in the capital and in the country and also visit with the local people. There will also be visits at a clinic, where there will be an opportunity to speak with young Burkinabe people about their access to information, prevention and health services.

In addition, the visit will focus on topics such as access to information and health services, female circumcision, exclusion and maternal mortality.
