The Great Hall of Christian VII’s Palace is adorned with flowers in warm autumn colours. The decorations combine vivid pink and bright orange in beautiful harmony with the room’s golden details. In addition, dahlias and roses in pink and orange, bright calla lilies, hydrangeas and chrysanthemums, as well as purple dendrobium and eucalyptus in reddish tones, create depth and variation in the decorations. As a special feature, amaranths, grown and picked in Fredensborg Palace Garden, have been included, giving the decorations a unique character and bringing a touch of The Royal Family’s own gardens into the room. The flowers are arranged in the elegant Christiansborg vases from Holmegaard dating from the 1920s, whose spiral form elevates the arrangements so that they stand as brilliant centrepieces above the tables.

HM The Queen assisted in selecting the autumn flowers.
