Equilibrium between the sexes has been in focus during The Crown Princess’s visit in Kenya, which took place at the end of November 2018. Over two days, Her Royal Highness visited a number of organizations and projects all targeted at working for the rights of girls and women.

During the visit in the northern part of Kenya, The Crown Princess met with the organization Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT), which is supported by DANIDA and which works to strengthen women in poverty-stricken, patriarchal nomadic societies. They do that by involving girls and women in the operation of the game preserves. The work has resulted in giving more girls access to education, and fewer girls have been subjected to female circumcision and to entering into childhood marriages.

During the visit in Kenya, The Crown Princess also took part in the launching of the organization Women Deliver’s campaign “Deliver for Good”, for which Her Royal Highness is an influencer. The Crown Princess has previously participated in the launching of this campaign in, among other places, the USA. Through cooperation with partners and a focus on equality and the rights of women and girls, the campaign seeks to find solutions for meeting the UN’s global Sustainable Development Goals.
