HRH The Crown Princess visits Lithuania

This year, Denmark and Lithuania can celebrate that it was 100 years ago the two countries established diplomatic relations. In this connection, Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess will participate in an official celebration of the event in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius the days of 30 September and 1 October.

In connection with the 100th anniversary of Denmark’s and Lithuania’s diplomatic ties, Lithuania’s President, His Excellency Gitanas Nausėda, has invited Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess to take part in an official celebration of the event in Vilnius, Lithuania. The visit will mark the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, but also the 30th anniversary of Denmark’s recognition of Lithuania’s restored independence in 1991.   

The Crown Princess’s visit in Lithuania’s capital Vilnius takes place from 30 September until 1 October. On the first day, Her Royal Highness will be welcomed by the President and Mrs. Diana Nausėdienė at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius. Afterwards, The Crown Princess meets Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė in the Lithuanian government building, and, later the same day, The Crown Princess and Mrs. Diana Nausėdienė open a new, large art exhibition with Danish Golden Age art in the heart of Vilnius. At the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, The Crown Princess and Mrs. Diana Nausėdienė open a Danish-Lithuanian art seminar, and later Her Royal Highness and Mrs. Diana Nausėdienė will visit Vilnius’s Old Town. In the evening, there will be a gala concert with musicians from Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and a following dinner at the Danish Embassy in Vilnius.

On the second day, Her Royal Highness opens a Danish-Lithuanian conference held in connection with the publication of a book marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Lithuania. The official celebration in Lithuania concludes with The Crown Princess’s opening of Senators’ Passage at a marketplace in Vilnius. At that event, Her Royal Highness meets with Danish soldiers stationed in Lithuania.
