Programme for HM The King’s visit in Greenland
His Majesty The King visits Greenland the days of 18-20 February 2026.
The visit begins in Nuuk, where The King will stay all of Wednesday. On Thursday, The King visits Maniitsoq and Kangerlussuaq. The visit concludes on Friday in Kangerlussuaq.

Wednesday, 18 February
Official arrival at Nuuk Airport

The King arrives at Nuuk Airport, where The King is received by The Prime Minister of The Government of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, and The President of the Inatsisartut, the Parliament of Greenland, Kim Kielsen.
Luncheon at the Hans Egede House

The Prime Minister of The Government of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, hosts a luncheon.
Tour at the gymnasium in Nuuk

The King visits GUX Nuuk, which is the school for upper secondary education in Nuuk. During the visit, The King takes part in a tour around the school and meets its students.
Visit at Royal Greenland

The King visits Royal Greenland in Nuuk, where The King participates in tour of the company’s factory. Royal Greenland is Greenland’s largest company.
Meeting with students from the Arctic Basic Training programme

At Nuuk Harbour (by the inspection vessel VÆDDEREN), The King meets students from the Arctic Basic Training programme. Arctic Basic Training is aimed at young people living in Greenland who, during the training, obtain defence and emergency preparedness skills for handling tasks in Greenland.

Kaffemik at Katuaq

The King takes part in a traditional kaffemik (social event with coffee, cake, etc.) at the cultural centre Katuaq. The kaffemik is open to the public and provides The King the opportunity to meet residents of Nuuk.

Thursday, 19 February
Arrival in Maniitsoq

The King arrives at Maniitsoq Airport, where The King is received by first deputy mayor Gideon Lyberth from Qeqqata Kommunia (Qeqqata Municipality).
Luncheon with the municipal council

The members of the municipal council host a luncheon.
Visit in Maniitsoq

The King is given a tour of the town and gets the opportunity to greet residents.
Visit at the business Maniitsoq Lodges

The King visits the business Maniitsoq Lodges, which is run by young entrepreneurs. Afterwards, The King ventures out onto the landscape around Maniitsoq, where The King will gain insight into the area’s nature and wildlife.
