The 50th jubilee of HM The Queen’s accession to the throne will be celebrated on 21 May 2022 by Tivoli with activities for guests in the amusement park and a ballet gala in Tivoli’s Concert Hall.

The ballet gala is with dancers from, among others, the Hamburg Ballet, the Royal Ballet in London, the Paris Opera, the New York City Ballet and the Royal Danish Ballet. A portion of the performance consists of works by the American choreographer John Neumeier from the Hamburg Ballet.

The command performance on 21 May will be attended by The Queen and the royal family. Guests in the park can see the ballet gala on a large screen. The ballet gala will be presented both on 21 and 22 May, and there is an opportunity to buy tickets for the performances starting on 9 February.

The performance in the Concert Hall on 21 May will be introduced by John Neumeier. The ballet gala is in three acts, and, during the performance, solo dancers from the world’s leading ballet companies will be presented in excerpts of ballets that display the distinctive histories and traditions of the various companies. The first act consists of works danced by the Hamburg Ballet and the Royal Danish Ballet. In the second act, new features from the Chamber Ballet, the Tivoli Ballet Theatre and the Hamburg Ballet can be seen. The third act offers classical and neoclassical ballet pieces danced by solo dancers from the world-renowned companies from London, Paris and New York.

In addition, an exhibition opens at Tivoli on May 21 featuring selected ballet costumes designed by The Queen throughout Her Majesty’s 20 years of artistic work at Tivoli.

The day in Tivoli concludes with fireworks.
