This year, Marselisborg Palace in Aarhus will once again be the setting of Her Majesty The Queen and the royal family’s Christmas. The Queen begins a stay at the palace on 20 December and will celebrate Christmas Eve together with the Crown Prince Family.

Since The Queen’s accession to the throne in 1972, it has been a tradition to celebrate the major events in the royal family at Marselisborg Palace in Aarhus. Throughout the years, The Queen has traditionally stayed at the Aarhusian palace in connection with Easter and often Christmas as well. In conjunction with the transfer of residence, there will be a changing of the guard by The Royal Life Guard at Marselisborg Palace every day at 12:00 through the Christmas period.

TRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie and their two children will celebrate Christmas in France together with Princess Marie’s family. Prince Joachim’s older sons, TH Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix, will spend Christmas with their mother, HE Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg.
