Your Excellency President Sang, Ministers, Distinguished guests, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Your Excellency President Sang, I am truly delighted to welcome you and your delegation to this lunch with Danish business leaders. Your country holds a special place in the history of my family with many fond memories to be cherished.  These fond memories do not only relate to the past but also to our recent visits where we have witnessed the remarkable socioeconomic transformation of Vietnam.

During this transformation, Denmark has offered its friendship and support. I hope that your visit to Denmark will lead to a strengthening of our friendship and the beginning of a new and broader partnership.

Trade and investment between Denmark and Vietnam has increased steadily over the years. This is one area where we are very keen to expand and deepen our relations.  Therefore, the Danish Prime Minister launched the Government’s Growth Strategy for Vietnam last year during her visit to your country.

Already today, more than 130 Danish companies are present in Vietnam.

I am therefore delighted that we are joined today by a number of distinguished guests from the Danish business community.

The large business delegation accompanying you gives me strong reason to believe that we can strengthen the commercial aspects of our friendship in the future. During your visit, a number of agreements in support of collaboration in several areas will be signed. This marks a good beginning for our new partnership.

Your Excellency, I truly hope that your visit to Denmark will leave you with many fond memories of our country and its people. And looking ahead, I hope that your visit will be remembered as having contributed to strengthening the economic ties between Denmark and Vietnam.

Thank you – Xin Cam On.
